This museum houses one of the most splendid collections of 19th century art with highlights such as the "Monk by the Sea" by Caspar David Friedrich, "Conservatory" by Edouard Manet, "Summer" by Claude Monet, "Flax barn at Laren" by Max Liebermann, "Isle of the Dead" by Arnold Böcklin and "Balcony room" by Adolph Menzel.
